On Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, Sharon Hubbs, wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away at the age of 50 years. Raised on Kodiak Island, Alaska, Sharon enjoyed fishing, riding her motorcycle and being on the open water. Sharon had many accomplishments throughout her years: degrees in business administration and computer systems technology; EMT with Bayside Fire Department; worked in computer information systems with the Kodiak Island Borough; was the CEO and owner of NWB; and was VP of Market and Development of Quintilian. Sharon devoted her time investing in her community by funding trades-based scholarships and supporting youth sports in Wasilla and Kodiak. Her most treasured achievement was being a mother and a grandmother.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Michael Hubbs; and her daughters, Rachel Hart (Christopher Hart) and Caitlin Nault; by her mother, Barbara Swearingin; and by her grandchildren, Kamryn, Ryker and Rhys Hart. She will be remembered by her brothers, John Swearingin, and James Swearingin (Brandy Swearingin.) Her father, Billy Swearingin; and her sister, Barbara Dawn Swearingin, preceded Sharon.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Legacy Funeral Homes, 1201 West Parks Highway in Wasilla, Alaska, on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, at 3 p.m.
Memorial donations, in memory of Sharon, may be made to Providence Children's Hospital, 3200 Providence Drive, Anchorage, AK 99519.
