Sheela Lorene Grennan-Hull, loving wife, mom, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, passed away on Dec. 19, 2017, after a short, but tough battle with cancer.
Sheela was born to Dan and Dawn Grennan in Auburn, Wash., on Jan. 6, 1973. Raised in Enumclaw, Wash., Sheela grew up playing volleyball, basketball and softball. After graduating from Enumclaw High School in 1991, Sheela continued playing volleyball at Green River Community College before transferring to Western Washington University. Sheela received her master's degree in teaching at Montana State, where she met her husband, Casey.
Casey and Sheela took a leap of faith and accepted teaching jobs in New Stuyahok, Alaska. They spent 5 years in that small village before moving to Wasilla, Alaska, where she taught for several years before becoming an elementary school principal. As a teacher, coach and administrator, the number of lives Sheela impacted is countless.
Casey and Sheela's family grew when Aidan was born in 2002, followed by Killian in 2005. Sheela was happiest when she was with her boys. She had a loving and close relationship with each of them. She was their number one fan and spent many hours in the bleachers. Sheela was a loyal friend who loved to laugh. She lived her life with a purpose and made lasting impressions on all who met her. She will be missed dearly. Sheela is survived by her husband, Casey; sons, Aidan and Killian; parents, Dan and Dawn Grennan; brother, Corey Grennan; sister, Cassandra (Eric) Churchill; and a large extended family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Dec. 23, 2017, in Wasilla. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given in her honor to MyHouse Mat-Su Homeless Youth Center or The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.
