Former Anchorage resident Shirley Ann Hubert, 78, died peacefully Feb. 26, 2010, after a short illness at the Life House Rehabilitation Center in Bakersfield, Calif.

A celebration of life was held at the First Assembly of God Church in Taft, Calif.

Shirley was born April 23, 1931, in Sagola, Mich., to Lawrence and Luella Plumley.

She lived in Anchorage from 1941 until 1995.

Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Norma Jolley; and her husband, Billie Hubert.

She is survived by their children, Diane and Thomas Cowell of Malden, Mo., Debbie and Armand Alvarez, Rhonda and Gary Pelletier, and Kimberly Wilson, all of Reno, Nev., Leroy and Susie Helton of San Antonio, Texas, Dena and Jeff James, Karen Preston, Eddie Hubert and Perry Hubert of Anchorage, Suzy Godwin and Jeanie and Mark Gulch of North Carolina; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is and will be deeply missed by all.
