Simone Chabernaud, 81, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2012. She was born on February 2, 1931 in France. Simone came to the United States at the age of 27 and lived in Alaska since 1968. In June of 1986 she became a citizen in Anchorage.

Simone was a hard working woman who made herself into a successful business woman. She is the owner of Checker Cab since 1975.

Simone stayed simple, generous, always full of joy, laughing and happy.

Her only son, John Chabernaud, died in 2006.

Simone is survived by her two granddaughters, Alizee and Cheyenne and her good friends, Jacky, Mike and Lisa Thompson, Colette Larose, Benney Wolter and Catherine and Bernard Thompson.

Services will be held at Legacy Funeral Home Kehl's Chapel, 11621 Old Seward Highway, Wednesday, April, 11th at 11am. Visitation will begin at 10am.
