Mr. Stevie Ray Matthews was born in Natchez, Miss., on June 29,1958. He departed from this life on Nov. 16, 2017, at the age of 59. His parents, who are deceased, were Mr. Robert Goodin and Ms. Lillie Mae Goodin Frye. His Guardian Angels were his Grandparents, Cybell and Alfred Whitley.
Stevie served in the United States Army for three years. He and his family had settled in the Jackson, Miss. area before he moved to Anchorage, Alaska. He had the continued support of a loving family. He will live on in the memory and hearts of that family.
He has left to cherish him his wife, Belva Sessions Matthews; his daughters, Raniece O'Shea Matthews and Stephanie Rae Matthews; his son, Cartrell Leondus Sessions, who preceded him in death; and his granddaughters: Ashley S. Matthews, Sheena Matthews, Cheyenne R. Matthews and Chasity Washington.
He leaves to mourn his sister, Linda Goodin Williams (Frederick Williams); brother, Bobbie D. Goodin (Debra Payne Goodin); brother, Reverend Elvin (Elmo) Frye (Viola Hawkins Frye); sister, Yolanda Frye Williams (James Williams); brother, Stephan Antworn Frye (Nnita Satele); brother, Donald Devett Frye, and brother, Troy Cartrell Frye, sister, Paula Goodin. His brother Roger Frye preceded him in death. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
