Life long Alaska resident Tamatha Lee Cullington, 49, died on Oct. 23, 2017, at a private residence in Big Lake, Alaska. A Celebration of Life was held on Nov. 3, 2017, at Church on the Rock in Wasilla, Alaska. She was laid to rest at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery.
Tamatha was born on Aug. 30, 1968, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Tammy was known to light up a room when she entered and will always be remembered for her bubbly personality and contagious smile. She loved spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren. Tamatha's talents and interests included writing poetry, sign language, gardening, photography, biking, camping, snow-machining Chevy trucks and enjoying Alaska. In 2016, she accomplished a goal to write a song for her children, Trista Lee and Andrea Grace, entitled "Majestic." Tamatha was spiritual and had an abundant love for all souls and life itself.
Survivors are her mother and father, Penny and Paul Best; sister, Ashley Best; daughters, Trista Cullington Jones and Andrea Cullington Hohn; grandchildren, Justice and Emmalee Almquist and DaJuan Bell; aunts, Lily Wetherbee, Cheryl Hyman and Jeannine Blankenship; uncle, Jim Davis; cousins, Katherine Wetherbee, Michael Wetherbee Jr., David Hyman and Ryan Blankenship; plus many extended family members and friends.
Tamatha was preceded in death by her grandmother, Grace Laveta "Lee" Wetherbee; grandfather, Albert "Red" Wetherbee; and uncle, Michael Wetherbee Sr.
