Lifelong Alaska resident Timothy Paul Peters passed away Dec. 20, 2017, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Chapel By the Sea, 14730 Turnagain Bluff Way in Anchorage.
Tim was born on April 18, 1956, in Fairbanks, Alaska, to John and Freida Peters.
Tim graduated from Lathrop High School in Fairbanks and later received his Juris Doctorate at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va.
In 1976, he married Pauline Huffman, and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage together. They were blessed with four daughters and one son during their union.
Tim enjoyed a variety of different careers during his lifetime, including pasturing churches, residing as the Mayor of North Pole, Alaska, practicing as an attorney at law and serving on the governor's board for mental health and substance abuse under Governor Palin and Governor Parnell. He practiced law at Ross and Miner Law Firm and later opened his own law business.
Tim's family was of upmost importance to him. He enjoyed taking his son on many moose hunts, and also took his family on many hikes around Alaska.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Huffman Peters; his five children and sons- and daughter-in-law: Kimberly and Adam Bjornstad and their three children, Lydia, Benjamin and Caden; Mark and Crystal Raymer and their four children, Galilee, Liberty, Harmony and Noah; Matthew Peters and daughter-in-law Sarah Ruth; Evie and William Houser and their son Gideon; and Mike and Sarah Cox and their son Luke.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Steve.
Pallbearers will be: Jim Huffman, Joe Penton, Matt Peters, Adam Bjornstad, Benjamin Bjornstad and Ken Rosentrater.
Arrangements were entrusted to Kehl's Legacy Funeral Home.
