Troy Lee "Hank" Hankins of Las Vegas, Nev., passed on July 10, 2017. He was 88 years old.
Hank was born on Sept. 23, 1928, in Vernon, Ala. His parents were Houston and Ila Mae Hankins. He had one younger brother, James Columbus, "J.C."
Hank served in the United States Air Force. He was a Korean War veteran. After retiring from military service in Anchorage, Alaska, he owned and operated several businesses: Wonder Park Texaco, Muldoon Auto Parts, Jewel Lake Auto Parts, Boniface Auto Parts and Elm-Rich Auto Parts. Moving to California, he started Adelanto Auto Parts before selling it.
Not wanting to sit in a rocking chair, Hank elected to go long-haul trucking with second wife, Barbara. He longed to travel remarking with a grin, "There's nothing better than hitting the road and getting paid!"
Hank was preceded in death by his parents; brother; and first wife, Tallulah. He leaves behind wife, Barbara; sons, James "Jim" Hankins and Michael "Mike" Hankins; plus two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Military services were provided by the Veteran's Administration - Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas.
