Walter Francis Bullock, 83, son of George and Laura Bullock passed away peacefully July 25, 2017, in his Fort Myers, Fla., home with his wife of 62 years, Eva Bullock, by his side.
Walter was born in Chelsea, Mass., in 1934. He was an Air Force veteran of 20 years and worked as a civilian on Fort Richardson for 15 years. Walter and Eva moved to Fort Myers from Anchorage, Alaska, in 1997, but always called Alaska home, since their arrival in 1956.
Walter was a devout Christian, a great American, a member of the Fort Myers Beach Mason Lodge and Alaska Shriners. He loved playing softball and tennis, putting music to family photos, and collecting and shooting guns. He was a family man, and loved following his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in sports. Walt never met a stranger, and always left them smiling.
Walter is preceded in death by his mom and dad; and his brother, Thomas. Walter is survived by his wife, Eva Bullock of Fort Myers; his sister, Florence Clarke of Boston, Mass.; four sons and their wives, Mike and Amy Bullock of Anchorage, Brad and Jan Bullock of Anchorage, Todd and Penny Bullock of Anchorage and Walt and Melanie Bullock of Sedona, Ariz.; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Bullock of Anchorage; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Family gathered for a celebration of Walter's life in Fort Myers, Fla., on July 30, 2017. A military ceremony and burial is planned at a later date.
