A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Maranatha Full Gospel Fellowship, 3541 W. Dimond Blvd. Pastor Luke Kerr will officiate. Flowers and photos are welcome, and so will dishes to share during the potluck after the service.
Billy was born May 30, 1955, in Patterson, N.J., to Stanley and Margaret Bartosiewicz. He grew up in Wanaque, N.J., where he met his first wife, Valerie, his high school sweetheart. They married in 1976 and had a daughter, Dionna. They remained married for nine years. Later, he moved to California, where he had a son, Joshua. Following his infant son, he moved to Alaska in 1990 where he met and married Tamara in April 1994. They had a son, Scotty.
"Billy loved God and it showed in the way he lived," his family recalled. "He was there to lend a hand to anyone, young and old alike, many who considered him like a father. He was pleased with all of his many 'children' and talked about them often. He had a heart of gold and will be missed by many.
"He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Billy loved aviation. He worked in the airline business for several years. He recently purchased a private plane that he was able to fly a few times and desired to teach his children to fly."
He is survived by his wife, Tamara Bartosiewicz; daughter and son-in-law, Dionna and Daryl Pearson; sons, Steve Harris, Joshua Bartosiewicz and Scotty Bartosiewicz; grandsons, Cameron and Nathan; granddaughter, Emily; mother, Margaret Bartosiewicz; nieces, Stephanie, Misty, Crystal, Sierra and Katie; nephews, Kenny, Jeff and Ricky; and many other relatives and friends.
