William (Bill) Lajoie passed away at Providence Medical Center on July 5, 2017, after an accidental fall at home. Bill was born Feb. 18, 1957, in Juneau, Alaska, to Robert and Ruth Lajoie. He worked as a carpenter for 30 plus years and was a member of Union Local 1281 in Anchorage. He also worked as a building inspector for the Municipality of Anchorage for about 4 years. Being a homegrown Alaskan, Bill loved his fishing, camping and winter activities. He also loved traveling and visiting with family in Juneau and the lower 48. Bill will always be remembered for his fun loving spirit, generosity and kind loving heart. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Lajoie; son, Adam Lajoie (Sue), of Beijing, China; stepdaughter, Terina Abarra, of Puyallup, Wash.; stepsons, Shane Ohler (Debbie), of Puyallup, and James Ohler, of Maui, Hawaii; brothers, Tom Lajoie (Linda), of Fairfield, Calif., Robert Lajoie of Portland, Ore., and Rick Lajoie of Seattle, Wash.; brother and sister in-law, Robert and Sandy Heinke, of Graham, Wash.; many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and numerous very close friends that he dearly loved. Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5th Ave., in Anchorage on Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. Celebration of life will follow from 3-7 p.m. at Bill's home. Please call 337-4992 for address.
