Dr. Jack D. Rasmusson, 79, of Anchorage, went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2014. Jack was born on April 20, 1934 in Panama City, Panama. He was educated at Colorado State University where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Jack came to Alaska in the summer of 1958 and operated a private practice at the Alaska Veterinary Clinic until he retired in 1981. Jack enjoyed subsistence and big game hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

The family states, "Dad was a man of integrity, generosity, and dedication to his family. After retirement Mom and Dad enjoyed their winters in Kona, Hawaii. Jack was a successful hunter for subsistence as well as big game trophy hunting, even earning a world class leopard in 1970. Along with fishing, golf was his passion. Mom used to say, he is at the office!'"
Jack is survived by his daughter, Carrie Hoskins and son in law, Michael Hoskins; daughter, Jackie Flanagan; son in law, Gary Roderick; grandchildren, Jessica Trounce, Michael Roderick, Brandon and Conrad Wasser, Garrett Jr. and Andrea Lee Flanagan; beloved sister, Lettie Merriam; four great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Irvine and Devera Rasmusson; his beloved wife, Judith Kay; and his daughter, Sheri Lynn Roderick.
Jack accepted the Lord Jesus as his Lord and Savior. A memorial service will be held at on Friday, April 18 at 4:00 p.m. at Kehl's Legacy Funeral Home, 11621 Old Seward Hwy., in Anchorage. Services are entrusted to Kehl's Legacy Funeral Home.
