Jackie came to Alaska in 2002 and enjoyed an amazing lifetime of adventures as she made Alaska home. Summer, winter, spring or fall, Jackie lived to be outdoors where she was the ultimate Alaskan woman. Out on the boat with her Dad, camping with friends, rafting Campbell Creek with girlfriends, riding snow machines fast, laughing while her hair was blowing out the back of her ball cap on her 4-wheeler.
She will be remembered by all who knew her for her infectious laugh, her positive attitude, her generous heart, and her outrageously bubbly personality. She had an uncanny talent for capturing the hearts of everyone around her and turning ordinary experiences into fun and unforgettable experiences. Jackie had a big, loud laugh and shared it without reserve. According to Jackie "life's short - have fun and live while you can."
She lived for the next round of adventures which were always rich in laughs, great memories and her indisputable love of her family and friends.
Jackie is survived by her mother Martha Larrabbee (Dave) of Colorado; father Calvin Peterson (Enrica) of Nevada; brother David Peterson ( Heidi) of Wyoming; brother Terry Odenbach of Colorado; sister Teresa Green of Wyoming; sister Tammy Fields of Montana; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A service is planned January 9, 2014, 2 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Chapel and a Celebration of Jackie's life will be held following the service at 4 p.m. at Asia Garden.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Clare House.
