Jesus Isauro Oropeza

Jesus Isauro Oropeza, 17, of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on Jan. 21, 2017.
Jesus was born on Dec. 25, 1999, in Anchorage. He attended AVAIL School and West High School, where he was in his junior year. He was employed by Wendy's and also worked part time for his grandfather at Fur Trader's of Alaska. Jesus loved fishing and playing dominos with his grandfather. He loved the outdoors, boxing, camping and watching football and wrestling on TV. Jesus was such a bright kid, always looking forward and pushing himself to succeed. He never let things bring him down and was always willing to help others. He never hurt a soul and always gave people his attention. Jesus would have grown to be a great man and leader.
Jesus is survived by his mother, Marylu Kubina; father, Luis Oropeza; stepfather, Jonathan Kubina; brothers, Luis Miguel Oropeza and Mario Kubina; grandparents, Roberto and Yolanda Cuautle, and Randy Kubina; as well as many cousins and aunts and uncles.
A visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at Legacy Funeral Homes
Heritage Chapel, 440 East Klatt Road in Anchorage, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery, 440 East Klatt Road, at 2 p.m. A celebration of Jesus' life will be held at Kincaid Park Chalet, 9401 Raspberry Road in Anchorage, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on
Feb. 7, 2017.
