Anna Mable Hadden Willis
AIKEN, SC - A celebration of life service for Mrs. Anna Mable Hadden Willis, age 88, will be held 2:00 pm Monday, May 11, 2015 at Redds Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Richard McWhite and Dr. Roy L. Head officiating. Mrs. Willis will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Willis entered into rest Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the residence of her daughter. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Mr. Albert Henry Willis and a daughter of the late Mr. John Hubert Hadden and the late Mrs. Myrtle Lucille Faglier Hadden.
She was a native of Avery, Georgia and made Aiken County her home for the past 52 years.
Mrs. Willis retired in 1993 from Therm-A-Disc (ASCO) with 19 years of service. She was an active member of Redds Branch Baptist Church where she held various offices on the Hostess, Bereavement and History committees, the 50 Uppers Senior Adult Group and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
She also taught children and youth Sunday School as well as being an active member of the church choir.
Mrs. Willis truly loved her church and church family. Mrs. Willis helped organize the Willis Family reunion for many years which was held at Redds Branch Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy R. (Berry) Durden, Aiken and Susan W. (Fred) Napier, Aiken; one sister, Joenette Hadden (John K) Wise, Graniteville; three grandchildren, Rev. Jason Darrick (Stephanie) Redd, Mark (Robyn) Napier, Jacob Lee Gay; five great grandchildren, Sophie Elizabeth Redd, Rachel Katherine Redd, Logan Mae Napier, Jaden McNew Napier, and Nicholas McNew. Mrs. Willis was also predeceased by four brothers, Theron, James Mercier, William Milton and Johnny Harold Hadden; one sister, Elease Hadden Senn, and one grandchild, Wallace Michael Redd.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sam Willis, Grayson Still, Mark Nixon, Jeffery Willis, Wayne Hadden and Jeff Hadden. Honorary pallbearers will be the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Redds Branch Baptist Church Organ Fund, 390 Redds Branch Road, Aiken, SC, 29801.
A visitation with the family will take place 6-8 pm Sunday evening, May 10, 2015 at COLE FUNERAL HOME, 1544 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY (118 BY PASS) AIKEN, SC, 29801. 803-648-7175.
