John Lee Allen
JACKSON, SC - Funeral services for Mr. John Lee Allen, age 73, husband of Jeannette Allen, of 7511 S. Silverton St will be held 2 PM Wednesday, August 26, 2015 (Viewing 1 -2 PM) at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 2657 Silver Bluff Rd, Aiken, with Rev. Verdena Thomas officiating.
Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
At an early age, he was converted and baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a faithful Trustee and Usher. He was a 1961 graduate of Jefferson High School in Bath, SC.
He immediately joined the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart. John retired from Augusta Transit after 19 years of service.
Friends may call the residence . Viewing will be held at JACKSON-BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, 606 N. Main Street, New Ellenton, SC @ 803 649 6123 from 5-8 PM Tuesday.
