Janie Reece
CLEARWATER - Ms. Janie Harris Reece, age 84, loving wife of 55 years to the late Charles L. Reece, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 18th, 2018. She is survived by her sons, Larry Charles (Trudy) Reece, Jerry Dale (Debbie) Reece; daughters, Gail Reece (Johnny) McGee, Darline Reece (Bob) Perkins; sisters, Ophelia Risinger, Geneva Rhoden, Pearline Porter, Inez Blackwell; brother, Leonard Harris; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, John P. and India Oglesby Harris; brothers, JP & Ray Harris; and sisters, Josephine Harris and Donnie Cook. Ms. Reece was a member of the Bath United Methodist Church and was a secretary for the Aiken County Public School System. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched in the 84 precious years that she had on this earth. A funeral service celebrating her life will be conducted on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 in the chapel of Napier Funeral Home, at 11 o'clock am, with the Rev. Ashley Buchanan officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday evening, January 22nd, 2018 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of Ms. Reece. The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice for their excellent care of Ms. Reece during her illness. Mrs. Reece was the first friendly face I met when I became a teacher at Clearwater Elementary. She was so sweet and a very lovely person. My thoughts and prayers are extended to your family.
