Abraham Tyler
AIKEN, SC - Mr. Abraham Tyler, 94, the loving husband of Juanita Pontoo Tyler, of 1249 Evans Road, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2016 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A Celebration of Life will be held at Smyrna Baptist Church, Springfield, SC 2 PM Saturday September 17, 2016 (Viewing 1-2 PM) with Rev. J.R. Wise, Eulogist and Rev.Curtis Belton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Tyler was born on April 14, 1922 in Springfield, SC , the son of William and Annie Brown Tyler. He was a member and Deacon at Sardis Baptist Church where he served diligently. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, his family came second only to God.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, many siblings, his daughter, Lorraine Tyler and one grandson, Vinnie Brown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Martha Tyler and Patricia T. Brown, both of Aiken, SC; one son, Barney (Linda) Tyler, Newark, NJ; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Samella Hay, Springfield, SC and Dorothy Harrison, Greenville, SC; one sister-in-law, Mary Pontoo, Aiken, SC; one brother-in-law, Gonsilee Pontoo, Salley, SC.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, September 16, 2016 from 6-8 PM.
