Mrs. Addie Belle Roberts
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Mrs. Addie Belle Roberts, 102, of Ridge Cliff Court, wife of the late Earsell C. Roberts, entered into rest on Monday, February 24, 2014 at National Health Care.
Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the Chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry T. Matthews officiating.
Born in LaFayette, GA, she was the surviving sibling of eight children. She was a registered nurse and received her degree from Baroness Erlanger Hospital, Class of 1934, in Chattanooga, TN and retired in 1981 from Lyster U.S. Army Hospital, Ft. Rucker, AL. She enjoyed gardening, playing canasta, singing in choirs and traveling to all 50 states. She was a member of the Sheffield Club, the Cream of the Crop choir, First Baptist Church of North Augusta and the Hope Sunday School class. She enjoyed being a member of Golden Glow Chapter #76, OES, and the Fleming Lions Club. She volunteered for numerous years with the Bloodmobile, American Red Cross, and the elections.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail R. Turner of North Augusta, SC and Dr. Beverly A. Roberts of Evans, GA; one grandson, Michael S. Turner (Casey); one great granddaughter, Abigail R. Turner, all of Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
