Mr. Alfred Fleming
Alfred Fleming, 89, entered into rest on October, 11, 2017 at his residence. Heaven waits no more for God has fulfilled his promise of everlasting life as his parents, children and brothers before him.
Alfred Fleming was born the 3rd son of 4 on December 20, 1927 to George Fleming and Myrtle Stewart Fleming of Letcher County Kentucky. As a young man he worked as a coal miner, at the age of 18 married his wife of 72 years Annie Mullins. They began life in Kentucky then moved on to Michigan and later Lorain, Ohio where he retired from USS Steel Company where his co-workers named him "doughnut Al" then moving on to Gloverville, South Carolina. He was a dedicated member of the Langley Church of God. He loved to record home movies and gospel music - his way of sharing God's word to family and friends.
Alfred was blessed with 11 children. He was preceded in death by two sons Sonny Lee and Roger Fleming , two daughters Pamela Mack and Lisa Fleming. He leaves behind his loving wife Annie, daughters Marcella Fleming Warrenville, SC, Shelia Fleming Lorain, Ohio, Patricia Mack Gloverville, SC, Vivian Smith Clearwater, SC, Leota Bragg (Karl) Graniteville, SC, Tonya Fleming Gloverville, SC and one son Matthew Fleming (Heather) Beech Island, SC, a special daughter-n-law Shelly Fleming Isaacs, one brother Orville Fleming Amherst, Ohio and 21 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren and 18 Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday, October 14, 2017, in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bishops Benny Burton and Eddie Hardee officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Beech Island, SC. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.
