MARGATE,FL - A Memorial Service will be held for Alvin R. Bradshaw, 79, at 11:00am, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Royal Palm Christian Church, 9600 Royal Palm Boulevard, Margate, FL 33065.
Mr. Bradshaw passed away peacefully at home on December 18th, 2014, and was laid to rest beside his late wife, MiYoung Bradshaw on December 23, 2014 in Augusta, GA.
Mr. Bradshaw, originally from Bath, S.C., served his country first in the US Army, then in the Civil Service. "Big Al" spent the last 36 years of his career working for the US Dept. of State as a Communications Officer, serving his country throughout the world.
When he retired in 2000, he had faithfully served his country 43 years. While retired in South Florida, he enjoyed fishing, tennis, and golf.
He shared amazing stories of his travels and service throughout the world with his children and grandchildren.
Family members include: son, Richard Bradshaw (Brenda) of Graniteville, SC; daughters: Carolyn Axt (David) of Burnsville, MN and Sandra Bradshaw of Margate, FL; grandsons: Aaron Bradshaw, Landon Icenhour and Joshua Icenhour; granddaughters: Audrey and Victoria Axt.
He is preceded in death by his wife, MiYoung; his parents, Marion Lee Bradshaw and Margaret (Tiny) Moon Bradshaw: his brothers, Freddie Lee, Douglas Leon, and his sister, Audrey Estelle.
