GREENVILLE, SC - Funeral Services for Mr. Anderson L. "Andy" Baxley, 71, who entered into rest January 29, 2017, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from First Baptist Church of North Augusta.
Dr. Ryan Pack and Dr. Randy Cooper officiating. Interment in the Taylor's First Baptist Church Cemetery, Greenville, SC at 3 o'clock.
Mr. Baxley was a native of Shelby, North Carolina, a former resident of North Augusta for 64 years having recently made Greenville his home. He was a member of the Taylors First Baptist Church in Greenville where he was a member of the Choir and a former member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Choir member. Mr. Baxley was a 1963 graduate of North Augusta High School, attended Clemson University, received his Master's Degree from Augusta College and was an avid Clemson Tiger Fan. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was active in the Gideons, a former Past President of the North Augusta Exchange Club, a former member of the North Augusta Lion's Club and retired from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions with 32 years of service. Mr. Baxley was the son of the late A. L. and Carolyn Baxley.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Linda Stone Baxley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anderson and Laura Baxley, Greenville, SC and Alex and Emily Baxley, Chattanooga, TN; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Paul Triplett, Mauldin, SC; a grandson, Rory Baxley; a sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Jimmy Price, Fayetteville, NC.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the North Augusta-Edgefield Gideon's Camp and the 319th Transportation Company. Active Pallbearers will be Bob Brooks, Bob Timmerman, Jimmy Price, Andy Barnes, Arthur Beaufort and Rod Greenway.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening from 5 until 7.
