Arthur "Lee" Posey, Jr.
AIKEN, SC - Arthur "Lee" Posey, Jr., age 91, of Aiken, S.C., loving husband for 70 years to Margaret Sibley Posey and son of the late Arthur Lee Posey, Sr. and the late Mozelle Langley Posey, entered into rest at his residence in Aiken, S.C. on Monday, October 3, 2016.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind those who will always remember his
stories, laughter and his big heart full of love for his family; his son, Arthur (Christy) Posey of Aiken, S.C.; daughters, Vicky (Dennis) Shepard of Leesville, S.C. and Deborah (Dan) Posey of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Nick, Melissa, Michael and Jeff; six beloved great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie
Asbelle.
A true Aiken resident, with a passion for golf, he spent his entire life in Aiken County except for the years he spent overseas serving his Country in the US Army during World War II between 1943 and 1945. Lee earned multiple ribbons, medals, and other commendations for his service to our country. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 77 in Warrenville, S.C. After his tour of duty with the service, he worked as Foreman for the Aiken County School Bus Maintenance Shop. Up to his failing health, he was a very active member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville, S.C. There, he was also an active member of the United Methodist Men's Organization.
A service, celebrating his life, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home at 4:00 PM on Friday, October 7, 2016 with Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The interment will be private. Memorials may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 38, Graniteville, S.C. 29829. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Napier Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main St. Graniteville, S.C. 29829, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
