Aubrey "Slick" Shearer
LANGLEY, SC - Mr. Aubrey Edward Shearer, 78, of Langley, SC, known by his friends as "Slick", husband of fifty-six years to Mrs. Vivian Campbell Shearer, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
Born in Tift County, GA and a resident of Aiken County, SC, since 1962, he as a son of the late John and Ola Goff Shearer. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Shearer retired from Graniteville Company where he was an Electrician and was known as "Slick". He was a member of Warrenville Church of God and enjoyed camping, fishing and "tinkering".
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Eddie Shearer and his wife, Michelle, Graniteville, SC and Donald Shearer and his wife, Brianna, Beech Island, SC; sister, Dot Spooner, Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Blake Shearer, Cody Shearer, Steven Shearer, Kenny Shearer, Kaitlyn Shearer and Rev, James Depirro and his wife, Sarah and great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Elijah and Isiah Depirro.
The family will greet friends on Friday, January 20, 2017, from 5 until 7 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 3 o'clock in the chapel with Rev. James Depirro and Pastor Pennye Duncan officiating. Interment with Veterans Honors accorded by a United States Army Honor Guard will follow in Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC. Pallbearers will be Clem Campbell, Wade Campbell, Billy Hicks, Kenny Shearer, Steven Shearer and Richard Taylor.
Friends are welcome to call at the home of Eddie and Michelle Shearer.
