Barbara Ashley McNorrill
LEXINGTON, SC - Barbara Ashley McNorrill, age 46, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
Ashley was born August 20, 1969 at Fort Benning in Columbus, GA. Growing up as an "Army Brat", she lived all over the world including Hawaii while her Father was in Vietnam and Baumholder, Germany. Ashley graduated from Chantilly High School in Fairfax, VA in 1987 and attended The University of South Carolina and Columbia College where she earned a BA in Public Affairs in 1994. Ashley then attended Franklin Pierce Law School receiving a JD in 2002. After law school, Ashley served as an Active Duty Army JAG Corps Officer during which she deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division to Iraq in 2005 for Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2008, Ashley left active duty and joined the South Carolina National Guard achieving the rank of Major.
She is survived by her husband, David McNorrill; sons, Cole and Fletcher McNorrill, and parents, Col. Richard and Barbara Cole. She was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Cole.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at The Harvest with visitation following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oliver Gospel Mission.
