WARRENVILLE, SC - Mrs. Bessie Mae Mitchum Buzzard, 81, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 17th, 2014.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late George Eugene, Sr. and Lessie Blackwell Mitchum.
Following the death of her mother, she was raised by her step-mother, Ethel Schumpert Mitchum.
She retired from S.H. Kress where she was a Waitress. Miss Bessie enjoyed playing games.
In addition to her parents, family members include her children, Brenda (Raymond) Kirkpatrick, Augusta, GA, Harold Delano "Del" (Diane) Strang, Jr., Aiken, SC, Deborah Landon, Columbia, SC, Charles E. Strang, Aiken, SC and Melissa A. Hurt, Warrenville, SC; siblings, the late Jessie Lee Kyzer, Betty Jean Mainprice, Orangeburg, SC, Margaret Kennerly, Columbia, SC, Annette Birchmore, Columbia, SC, the late George E. Mitchum, Jr., Leo Mitchum, Alvin Mitchum and David Mitchum, all of Columbia, SC; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, June 20th, 2014, at 11 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Dexter Lambert officiating.

Friends will be greeted by the family (this evening) on Thursday, June 19th, 2014, from 6 until 8 o'clock at HATCHER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, LANGLEY, SC.
