Bobby Joe Hamilton
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Joe Hamilton, 75, of Reams Road, North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest October 8, 2016, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Sweetwater Baptist Church. Dr. Paul W. Noe officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hamilton was a life-long resident of North Augusta and a 1960 graduate of North Augusta High School and Augusta Technical College. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. Mr. Hamilton was a former member of St. Luke United Methodist Church for 40 years, followed by Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church. He was a former member of the South Carolina National Guard, a member of the American Legion Jesse C. Lynch Memorial Post #71 and a retired Instrumentation Technician with greatest years of service at the Babcock & Wilcox Company.. Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Hope Elizabeth Hamilton, his parents, Aaron M. and Edith King Hamilton and a sister, Mary Judith Samples.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Powell Hamilton; two daughters and their husbands, Bethany and Charles Barfoot, North Augusta and Andrea and Jeff Nash, Loganville, Georgia; five grandchildren, Chad Barfoot, Makayla Barfoot, Mallory Barfoot, Aubrey Nash and Addison Nash; a brother, Aaron F. Hamilton, Orlando, Florida; stepmother, Neta S. Hamilton, Warrenville.
Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion Jesse C. Lynch Memorial Post #71.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 until 8.
