Brenist Gunter
AIKEN - Mr. Brenist Alfred "Al" Gunter, 80, of Aiken, SC, beloved husband of Mrs. Sandra Soucy Gunter, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in the comfort of his home.
Born in Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Theodore and Doris Toole Gunter. He proudly and with honor, served his country in the United States Airforce. Al retired from SRS in 2000, where he was a Lab Tech. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting coins, hunting, fishing and being a "jokester". Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his spouse, family members include, his daughters, Julia West and Denise Gunter, siblings, Barbara Weathersbee and the late Wayne and Woodrow "Woody" Gunter, grandchildren, Jodi Wells, Toni Byrd and Chelsea Youngblood and her husband, Ray and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kane and Kirk Wells and Braydon and Bryson Byrd.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, December 30, 2017, beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 o'clock in the chapel. Pastor Ray Popham will officiate. Private Entombment with veteran's honors accorded by a United States Airforce Honor Guard will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, Graniteville, SC.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the . (www.alz.org) or the . (www.cancer.org)
