Calvin J. "Jack" Williams "WWII Veteran, 101st Airborne"
BURNETTOWN, SC - Entered into rest on July 29, 2014. Mr. Calvin J. "Jack" Williams.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his mother, Zella Sellers Wooten; his step-father, Bernard Wooten; and his sister, Faye Seigler. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Williams; his daughter, Valerie Williams; his sister, Ann Napier; and his brother, JB Wooten.
Jack was born June 14, 1925 in Greenwood, SC. Mr. Williams was a member of Bath First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and later as Deacon Emeritus. He also was a former Sunday School Director.
He proudly served his country with the US Army during WW II, as a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne. He was among the first allies to enter Germany by parachuting over the Rhine. Later he was also in the Battle of the Bulge. After returning home from the war, he began working and later retired from Bath Mill as a Supply Manager.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Bath First Baptist Church with Rev. Herb Sons officiating. The family will greet friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to Bath First Baptist Church, Soloman Project.
