NORTHAUGUSTA- Funeral Services for Mrs. Carol Davis Graf, 83, who entered into rest, October 26, 2017, will be conducted Monday afternoon, at 2 o'clock in the Storey Chapel of First Baptist Church of Augusta. Rev. Patti Fowler officiating. Interment in Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. Graf was born September 11, 1934 in Millen, Georgia to the late Clyde Elmo Davis and Lurlene Kent Davis. She graduated as valedictorian from Chicora High School in Charleston, South Carolina in 1952 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of South Carolina in 1956, where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. Upon graduation from college she returned to Augusta, where her family had also lived. She worked at the Savannah River Plant and taught at Langford Junior High School, Augusta, GA, before marrying Eugene Lincoln Graf in December of 1961. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta for over 50 years and a member of the Parker Sunday School Class. As a young mother, she was active in the North Augusta Jaycee-ettes and the North Augusta Women's Club. In 1970, as a member of the Jaycee-ettes, she co-chaired the North Augusta March of Dimes campaign. She is remembered and honored as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister with an outgoing personality and a sincere interest in the lives of the people she met.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene Lincoln Graf and her parents, Clyde Elmo Davis and Lurlene Kent Davis.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Melody Graf, Bothell, WA and Michael and Carla Graf, Columbia, SC; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Tikhon Pichai, Simpsonville, SC and Lisa and David Jennings, Watkinsville, GA; six grandchildren, Charissa Marie Pichai, Nancy Welch Graf, Mira Janna Pichai, Michael Steven Graf, Jr., Davis Fletcher Jennings and Elizabeth Han Yue Jennings; one brother, Richard Kent Davis, Bedford, TX.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6.
