BURNETTOWN, SC - Mr. Charles H. "C.H." Williams, Sr., 74, Mayor of Burnettown, SC, beloved husband of fifty-three years to Mrs. Glenda J. Williams, entered into rest on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
Born at #8 Hemlock, Porterdale, GA and a resident of Aiken County, SC, since 1949, he was a son of the late James H. and Maggie Maffett Williams.
A devoted community servant, C.H. was Mayor of Burnettown, SC. He was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Aiken County Parks and Tourism Board, was appointed by a County Representative to the Board of Adjustment and Appeals, was instrumental in the Redcliffe State Park, was former President of VRA, member of the American Legion, the Midland Valley Booster Club, member of Langley United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Horse Creek Masonic Lodge.
CH was a devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children and their spouses, Charles H. Jr. and Tammy Williams, North Augusta, SC, Glenn H. and Darlene Williams, Graniteville, SC and Carol M. and Joey Tarlton, White, GA; sister, Mozelle Fuller, Tampa, FL; niece, Sandra Henrichs, Tampa, FL; grandchildren and their spouses, Dana and Justin Craven, Daniel and Amber Williams, Evan Williams, Jacob Williams, Renee and Brian Valentine, Jessica and Jimbo Wetherington and Maggie Davis and a great-grandchild, Leighton Elizabeth Valentine.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at 12 o'clock at Langley Pentecostal Holiness Church, Langkey, SC, with Pastor Gene Brown officiating. Interment with Veterans Honors accorded by a United States Army Honor Guard and Masonic rites accorded by Horsecreek Masonic Lodge #174, will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be D.P. Smith, Justin Goodwin, Ron Toole, Mike Hunt, John Dicks and Adam Mestres.
Memorials may be made to the Coastal Center, 9995 Jamison Rd., Ladson, SC 29456.
The family will greet friends on Monday evening from 4 until 8 o'clock at LANGLEY PENTECOSTAL HOLINESS CHURCH, LANGLEY, SC.
