AIKEN, SC - Cheryl K. Howard Faglier Ramirez entered into rest with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 4, 2016, surrounded by her family at home.
She was retired from Sears Commercial and worked at Elliott Sons Funeral Homes for seventeen years. She was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and was a current member of Pinkerton Williams DAVA Unit #18. She loved working with the Veterans.
She was DAVA State Commander of Georgia from 1984-1985 and 2012-2014. She was also a member of American Legion Unit 63 and Past Auxiliary Unit President. She was also a member of Toast Masters at Sears Commercial. At Aiken's St. John's United Methodist Church, she was a member of the choir.
She and her deceased husband, Melvin, ran the Carolina Jamboree for 7 years until his health failed. With her outgoing personality she attracted a multitude of friends wherever she went. She loved the Lord and she loved working at Elliott Sons Funeral Homes because to her it was a ministry, not just a job.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to dance and travel.
She is preceded in death by her Mother, Mary Kathleen Beneteau Howard; Father, Roy William Howard; former Husband, Melvin Ray Faglier; Son-In-Law, Bobby Pelham; Aunts and Uncles and two cousins.
Survivors include her current husband since December 21, 2012, Ronald A. Ramirez; Daughter, Cheryl Lynn Brooks (Jerry); Son, Jerry William Reese; two Step-Sons, Scott Ramirez and Bruce Ramirez; Sister, Karen R. Howard Turner (David); Step-Mother, Gladys Howard; Step-Sister, Joy North (Tommy); three Step-Brothers, Don Rooks (Sheryl), Paul Rooks (Shelley), and Rick Rooks (Cathy); Grandchildren, Ronnie Pelham, Randy Pelham (Ashley), Sandra R. Pelham, and Sarah E. Reese; Step-Granddaughters, Cindy Stonica (John), Pam Hudgins (Donnie), Crystal Brooks, and Lydia Ramirez; Step-Grandsons, Wayne Brooks (Theresa), and Joshua Ramirez; Great-Grandchildren, Hunter, Kyleigh, Hayleigh, and Hudson Pelham, and Kameron and Kingston McKinney.
Pallbearers are Ronnie and Randy Pelham, Rick Faglier, Bill Vaughn, John Causey, and Stewart Hanson.
Visitation will be held at 6-8pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 739 US-78, Harlem, GA 30814, with Rev. Mike Suthphin, Dr. Tim McClendon, and Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project and The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
