Conrad Royce Hutto
LEESVILLE, SC - Conrad Royce Hutto, 80, passed away August 17, 2015, following a courageous fight with recovery of a broken hip and personal illness.
Conrad served in the United States Air Force as a pilot, was honorably discharged, and began a 46-year career at the Savannah River Site with E.I. DuPont and Westinghouse, starting in June of 1953. He enjoyed golfing in his earlier years, loved to fish, and was an avid University of South Carolina Gamecock fan.
He was the son of the late Rueben Aaron and Queenie Clark Hutto of Leesville.
He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Reynolds Hutto; sister Sybil Hutto Jennings; brother Donald Hutto; brother R.A. Hutto, Jr.; and brother Robert K. Hutto.
Surviving are daughter Mandy Hutto Joye (Michael Joye) of Irmo; son Conrad Royce Rod Hutto, Jr. (Annie Laura Pou) of St. Matthews; grandchildren Lauryn Elizabeth Pou Hutto of Aiken; Sybil Elizabeth Joye of Irmo; David Conrad Hutto of Aiken; Michael Conrad Joye of Irmo; brother-in-law Redd Reynolds (Doris Rawl Reynolds) of Lexington, and a number of nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his mixed-Lab four-legged loyal companion Dallas.
Mandy and Rod would like to thank all of the friends, family, and helpers over the past few years who helped care for him.
The family will receive friends at Barr-Price Funeral Home, 256 Main Street, Leesville, SC on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
Following visitation, a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Barr-Price Funeral Home and will be led by Pastor Phil Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, Rod and Mandy request that memorials be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 110 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307 or Hems of Grace Ministries, c/o Mandy Joye, 310 West Ashford Way, Irmo, SC 29063.
