Debra 'Denise' Burkhart
AIKEN - Mrs. Debra Denise Burkhart, 61, of Aiken, SC, entered into rest on Sunday, May 21st, 2017.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of Ralph and Betty Brock Bragg, of Aiken, SC. A graduate of Aiken High School, she enlisted in the United States Navy, from which she was honorably discharged. She attended both Aiken and Midlands Tech and was formerly a Certified Welding Inspector at Plant Vogtle and a CNA at Mattie C. Hall. Denise was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching Sunday morning services on TV, fishing and going to the mountains and cooking. More than anything however, she enjoyed spending time with her family and being with her fur babies, Lily, Littleman and Nilla.
The family will greet friends on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017, beginning at 2 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC, followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 3 o'clock in the chapel. Veterans Honors will be accorded by a United States Navy Honor Guard.
In addition to her parents, family members include a son, Devin Bragg and his wife, Krystal, Aiken, SC, siblings, Lynne Ergle and her husband, John, Graniteville, SC, Kenneth Bragg, Aiken, SC and Gerald Bragg and his wife, Susan, Warrenville, SC; grandchildren, Katie, Jacob and Nate Bragg and there mother, Betsy, a very special aunt, Barbara Tumblin and her husband, Carl, nephews, Kenneth Eugene Bragg, Joshua Bragg, Dustin Bragg and his wife, Kerith, Philip Bragg and his wife, Stephanie, Matthew Bragg and his wife, Amber and John Ergle, Jr. and his fiance, Jennifer Grace, nieces, Felicia Ergle and Ashley Mathis and her husband, Trey and great-nephews, Kayden Bragg Mathis and Karson Mathis, who is due in August.
Due to her love for animals, the family has asked that memorials in memory of Denise be made to the Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare. (www.letlovelive.org)
