AIKEN, SC - Funeral Services for Doris P. Pope, 70, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Zion Fair Baptist Church located at 97 Dry Branch Rd., Aiken, SC. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery located at 130 Independent Blvd. also in Aiken. Public viewing will be held Noon - 8 p.m. today at Jackson Brooks Funeral Home located at 126 Fairfield St. SE, Aiken, SC. The family is receiving visitors at her mother's house located at 4605 Storm Branch Rd, Aiken, SC.
Doris P. Pope was a native of Aiken, SC, who graduated Schofield High School with the class of 1963. She was a member of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish memories her sons; Moses (Shelly) Padgett, Jr., Aiken, SC; Marvin (Juanita) Padgett, Woodbridge, VA; four granddaughters, Paris Padgett , Richmond, VA, Jamillah Padgett, Allentown, PA, Khadijah Shaw, Augusta, GA and Porcia Padgett, Green-ville, SC; one grandson, Marvin Padgett, Aiken, SC; five great-grandsons, Samir Porter, Richmond, VA, Vernandre Whitfield, Augusta, GA, Malachi Padgett, Aiken, SC, Marvin Padgett, Jr, Oklahoma and Zyaire Padgett, Greenville, SC; two granddaughters, Samoria Padgett, Richmond VA and Aliea Padgett, Oklahoma; mother, Penny Ophelia Smith of Aiken, SC; two brothers, Kenneth (Dorothy) Smith, Albuquerque, NM, and Mcronel (Barbara) Smith, Aiken, SC; three sisters Mary Annette Vaughn, Shirley Brown, Christmas (Jimmy) Starlings all of Aiken, SC; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
