She taught school in Iowa and Minnesota before marrying Robert Louis Fisher on August 19, 1945, after he returned home from flying a B-24 bomber during World War II. Robert died Dec. 31, 2009. They had one child who died in infancy.
Dorothy is survived by her nieces Janet Winzenburger of Berea, OH, Carol Tolbert (William) of Fredericksburg, VA, her sister-in-law Mildred Knight and her nephew James and his wife, Karin, of Aiken, SC.
There will be no Memorial Service. Robert's and Dorothy's ashes will be interred in Mount Vernon, IA, at a later date.
