Dorothy Truitt Dyer
BRANDON, FL - On July 7, 2015, my 87 year old mother, Dorothy, was called home unexpectedly while visiting her daughter in Kentucky. For the last several years, Dorothy had been cared for by her daughter, Julie, in Florida. She was her nurse and caregiver.
Mother was predeceased in death by her first husband, Scott Truitt, her son Dr. Thomas Truitt, and her second husband, Clinton Dyer. She is survived by her daughters, Julia Truitt Del Rosario from Brandon, Florida, and P.J. Mong from Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Dyer had seven grandchildren, Jason, Stuart, Brooke, Courtney, Scott, Seth, and Sean, and four great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Vivian, Chance, and Mason.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Contributions, if one wishes, can be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Alzheimer's and/or the Parkinson Foundations.
Mother, it has been one year now since you were taken from me due to unfortunate and convoluted
circumstances. It was always my pleasure, honor, and a gift to take care of you and to be able to offer you the best medical care available. Your physicians here
certainly agreed. All of the daily brain activities and physical activities eventually slowed down your neurological impairment and you were able to enjoy your last several years with happiness, surrounded by love and a joyful environment.
I miss you so much, Mother. I hope Ihonored your burial wishes to the best that Icould. It was a beautiful farewell!
Rest in peace, my dear Mother,
