Douglas Frye
Warrenville - Mr. Douglas L. "Doug" Frye, 71, of Warrenville, SC, husband of Mildred Walker Frye and the late Shirley L. Frye, entered into rest peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, in the comfort of his home.
Born in California, a son of the late Franklin and Inez McManus Frye, he grew up in Clearwater Beach, FL, until making Aiken County, SC, his home in 1971. He was a very dedicated and active member of Bath First Baptist Church and retired from Bill Vernon Chevrolet, where he was a Paint and Body Technician. Doug enjoyed woodworking, watching birds, hunting, fishing and was an avid Braves fan.
In addition to his wives and parents, family members include his children and their spouses, Robert Mike'l and Valerie Sanford, Graniteville, SC, Jimmy Ray and Stacy Sanford, Saluda, SC, Dana and Eddie Parish, Hephzibah, GA and the late Eddie Frye, siblings, Linda Smith, OH and Geri Trueblood, FL; grandchildren, Ninette, Mike'l, Kyle, Caity, Jeffery, Joshua, Jeremy and the late Andie and six great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Sunday, November 26, 2017, from 2 until 4 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Svc., 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017, at 2 o'clock at Bath First Baptist Church, Bath, SC. Pastor Herb Sons will officiate. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC. Doug will be placed in the church at 1 o'clock on Monday.
It has been requested by the family, that memorials be made to Solomon's Project at Bath First Baptist Church P.O. Box 240 Bath, SC 29816. (www.bathfbc.org)
