Eddie A. Tillman
ROSEDALE, NY - Eddie A. Tillman was born on October 15, 1945 to the late Leonard and Frances O'Conner Tillman. He was the oldest of the four children born to this union. His sibling, Eugene, preceded him in death.
Eddie was educated in Aiken County and a graduate of Martha Schofield High School, class of 1963. He was drafted into the United States Army shortly after high school and received his honorable discharge before relocating to New York. He met and was united in holy matrimony with Jean Jenkins in 1973. They were blessed to celebrate forty three years of marriage on October 13, 2016. To this union, two sons were born, Bryan and Terence. Eddie was a loving husband, a devoted father, a man of faith.
Eddie received Christ at an early age and was a member of Evening Light Church of God in Graniteville, SC where his grandfather, Rev. Luther O'Conner was the Pastor and grandmother, Carrie O'Conner (First Lady). After relocating to New York, he became an active member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Massapequa, NY, working diligently as an usher.
Eddie was employed by Airborne International where he retired after more than twenty years.
Eddie departed this life on Saturday, October 29, 2016. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Jean; two sons, Terence Tillman of Rosedale, NY and Brian (Takiya) Tillman of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Patricia Gaines of Jamaica, NY and Renee Tillman of Bronx, NY; one uncle, William (Lila) O'Conner of Aiken, SC; two aunts, Justine Webb of Jamaica, NY and Helen Ricardo of Graniteville, SC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins/other relatives and friends.
Eddie was laid to rest in Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY on November 4, 2016.
