Evans, GA - Funeral Services for Mr. Eddie Stevens "Steve" Culbreath, Jr., 80, who entered into rest May 12, 2014, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Culbreath was a life-long resident of the CSRA and a member of the First Christian Church of Belvedere. He was the retired owner of Culbreath and Son's Logging and was an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Culbreath was a true family man. He enjoyed spending time with the family on the river, fishing, cooking and gardening. His honesty and integrity were treasured parts of his personal and professional life. Mr. Culbreath was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Stevens Culbreath, Sr.; his mother, Janie Pearl Brown Heyward; his step-father, Holley Ware Heyward; a son-in-law, J. Scott Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Culbreath; a son, John Stevens "Steve" Culbreath (Beth), North Augusta, SC; three daughters, Loretta C. "Rette" Stokes (Sid), Anderson, SC, Nora C. McClendon (Lee), Lincolnton, GA, and Carole Anne C. Taylor, Aiken, SC; two brothers, Holley Ware Heyward, Jr., (Marilyn), Lake Murray, SC and Terry Dean Heyward, Asheville, NC; a sister, Virginia H. McDaniel (George), Columbia, SC; seven grandchildren, John Stevens "Jay" Culbreath, Jr. (Starr), Marcus Luke Culbreath, Whitney S. Moody (Lee), Benjamin Holley "Ben" Culbreath, Carolyn M. Curley (Austin), Andrea Blair Stokes and Steven Scott Taylor; seven great-grandchildren; a special extended family member, James F. "Jim" Johnston, Leah, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening from 5 until 7.
