Elinor Ardrey Baker
Charlotte, NC - Elinor Ardrey Baker, age 84, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Born January 9, 1930, in Aiken, SC, she was the youngest child of Frank Everard and Blanche Lawrence Ardrey.
She attended Centre College in Danville, Kentucky and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She loved reading, needlework, crossword puzzles, music and her family.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Frank Everard Ardrey, Jr. Elinor is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marion Baker, and three children, Eve Bennett (Rieley) of Arden, Wade Baker of Charlotte, and Mary Dickerson (Kevin) of Raleigh and three granddaughters.
A memorial celebration will be held at 2 pm on Monday, April 28, at First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brighton Gardens for their loving care and support during her years there.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Charlotte, or Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte.
