WAGENER, SC - Mrs. Emily Katherine McIver Brown, 83, entered into rest Monday, August 31, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Emily was born in Fayetteville, NC, the daughter of the late Albert W. and Edna Jane Shaw McIver.
Mrs. Emily was the wife for 48 years of O'Shield Brown, Jr.; the mother of Alberta Wasden and the late Anysel Gunter; grandmother of
Warren Wasden, Sr. and Brandy, and Patricia W. Middleton; great-grandmother of Sierra Hoover, Warren Wasden, Jr. and Rafe Wasden; sister of the late Norman Metcalf and Earl McIver; sister-in-law of James Earl and Mavis Brown, the late Mikel Thomas "M. T." Brown, Gloria Jean and Jon Smith, Mack and Ruby Brown, Winston Brown and Peggy Autry, Judy and Wayne Barr, and Carol and the late Hal Millwood.
Mrs. Emily was a member of First Baptist Church Wagener and was a local Tax Office business owner for many years. She loved to bowl, dance, fish and go on cruises. She was a member of the Wagener Woman's Club. She was treasurer of her Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 pm in Chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday at 1 pm in the First Baptist Church of Wagener with the Revs. Phillip Proveaux and Dave Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Wagener Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Warren Wasden, Mack Brown, Winston Brown, Wayne Barr, Wade Long, Jason Millwood and Doug Busbee.
