DACULA, GA - Everett George Priest, 90, of Dacula, GA, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016. He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Milardo Priest, just 3 months ago.
Everett was the eldest of eight children of the late Alton and Martha Dybick Priest of Higganum. He was a 1943 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He was a 1970 graduate of Central Connecticut State College. He served as carpentry teacher at Vinal Regional Technical School until his retirement in 1983.
He married his high school sweetheart Dot on August 10, 1946. He served as a medic's aide in World War II, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Terry Newbury of Dacula, GA, and his son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Ellen Priest of Aiken, SC. In addition, he leaves behind four grandchildren, Michael Marino of Middletown, CT, Jason Marino and his wife Erika of Atlanta, GA, Jayme Priest Hightower and her husband Justin of Moncks Corner, SC, and Greg Priest of Aiken, SC. He also leaves four great grandchildren, Shaun Marino of Middletown, CT and Molly, Evan, and Andrew Marino of Atlanta, GA.
Services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to USC Aiken's Veteran and Military Student Success Center, 471 University Parkway, Aiken, SC 29801 in his honor.
