Floyd Moore, Jr.
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Memorial Services for Mr. William Floyd Moore, Jr., 88, of Maple Drive, who entered into rest June 30, 2015 will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Sweetwater Baptist Church with Veterans Honors rendered by the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion, Post #71. Dr. Paul Noe officiating. Interment will be private.
Mr. Moore was a native of Weddington, N.C., a former resident of Matthews, N.C., having made North Augusta his home for the past 60 years. He was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and a former member of Fairview Presbyterian Church. Mr. Moore was a U. S. Navy Veteran, having served during World War II and was a member of the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion, Post #71, the United States Power Squadron and the Association of Aviation Ordnancemen. He was an Independent Insurance Agent and Financial Planner, a former North Augusta City Councilman, and a member of AMBUCS. Mr. Moore was an avid golfer and was the co-owner of Charlotte National Golf Club. He was a member of Midland Valley Golf Club, Westlake Golf Club, and served on the Masters Tournament Committee for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida Jane Moore.
Survivors include his wife of six years, Susan Lepard Moore; two sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Floyd Moore, Sr. and Vicki, North Augusta, SC and Dave Moore and Cindy, Indian Trail, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mark Wasikowski, Keller, TX; three stepsons and their wives, James T. Lepard and Jean, Dunlap, TN; Captain Retired David H. Lepard and Pat, Tucson, AR and Danny A. Lepard and Melanie, Barnwell, SC; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas H. Moore and Anne, Matthews, NC; a sister, Sue Von Moore, North Augusta, SC; a brother-in-law, William "Bill" Murphy, Pontotoc, MS; a sister-in-law, Louise A. Lawing, Charlotte, NC.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion, Post # 71.
Memorials may be made to Sweetwater Baptist Church Building Fund, 198 Sweetwater Road, North Augusta, SC 29860.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8.
