Franklin Lindsey Simmons, Jr.
AIKEN, SC - A celebration of life service for Mr. Franklin Lindsey Simmons, Jr., will be held 1:00 pm Friday, August 5, 2016 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Widener Speaking. Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Air Force Ceremonial Team. Interment will be held private.
Mr. Simmons was a native of Spartanburg County, SC and had made Aiken his home for the past 30 years, and last resided in Barnwell. He was an instrumentation Technician with Austin Industries for 25 years. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was also a member of the Aiken Masonic Lodge # 156 AFM, and was a Shriner in the Jamil Temple.
Survivors include two sons, Dana (Delora) Simmons, Soperton, GA, Louis Simmons, Aiken; one daughter, Allison Simmons Jacobs, North Augusta; four sisters, Mary (Dalton) Deese, Myrtle Beach, Linda Deaver, Greenville, Janie (Don) Goff, Franklin, TN, and Lavonia Simmons, Spartanburg; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. Simmons was predeceased by one son, Ricky Simmons, and one brother, George Simmons.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorials be made to the Dementia , www.alz.org or to the , www.heart.org.
