Mr. George Finkernagel
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Funeral Services for Mr. George Finkernagel, 83, of Skyview Drive, North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest October 15, 2014, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Roy Kiser and Rev. Alvin L. Jones, Jr., officiating.
Mr. Finkernagel was a native of Harford County, Maryland, having made North Augusta his home for the past 18 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, the Sheffield Club and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Mr. Finkernagel was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, a member of the American Legion Jesse C. Lynch Memorial Post #71 and a retired Purchasing Agent with the City of Havre de Grace, Maryland. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joyce Lynch. Mr. Finkernagel was fondly known as "The Candy Man".
Survivors include his wife of 34 years. Novella Finkernagel; a son-in-law, John Lynch, Huntsville, Alabama; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five stepsons, Steve Jones, Stanley Jones and Rev. Alvin Jones all of Martinez, Barry Jones, Bonham, Texas and Jeff Jones, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; three stepdaughters, Connie Shaw Davis and Debbie Leopard both of North Augusta and Susan Curry, Evans.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5 until 7 or at the residence of Connie and Don Davis, 4063 Fieldcrest Drive, North Augusta, SC.
