Glenn Edward Harris
AIKEN, SC - Mr. Glenn Edward Harris, beloved husband of sixty-two years to Mrs. Mary Toole Harris, entered into rest in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, April 27th, 2016, one day after his 85th birthday.
Born in Atco, GA and a resident of Aiken County, SC, since 1953, he was a son of the late Rev. Clarence W. and Willena Hicks Harris. A Korean War Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a very active member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. Mr. Harris enjoyed watching birds and let us not forget taking his daily nap. More than anything however, he enjoyed being with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include a son, Michael Glenn Harris, Elgin, SC; daughters, Gerri Harris, Aiken, SC and Terri Cox and her husband, George, Warrenville, SC; siblings, Floyd Harris, Atlanta, GA, Lloyd Harris, Atlanta, GA and Bruce Harris, FL; grandchildren, Austin Kyles, Garrett Kyles, Dalton Cox and Marshall Cox and great-granddaughter, Karter Kyles.
The family will greet friends on Friday, April 29th, 2016, beginning at 1 o'clock at Pine Forest Baptist Church, Warrenville, SC, followed by A Celebration of Life Service at 2 o'clock. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC, with Veterans Honors rendered by a United States Navy Honor Guard.
The family has asked that of so desired, memorials be made to Pine Forest Baptist Church, P.O. Box 97 Langley, SC 29834.
Visit to share memories and leave a message of condolence for the family.
