Gordon Mundy, Jr.
WILLISTON, SC - Funeral services for Gordon Vernon Mundy, Jr., 68, of Williston, SC will be held four p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with Reverend Jamie Wootten officiating; burial will be in The Williston Cemetery with military honors accorded. The family will receive friends from three p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Gordon passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Born in Aiken, SC, he was a son of the late Gordon Vernon Mundy, Sr. and Thelma Bates Mundy. He was owner/operator of Mundy Marine and Outboard Shop in Aiken for many years. After his retirement, he continued to do what he loved and continued to work with boats and motors. Gordon was a member of Lake Murray Drag Boat Association; he was a first class competitor, racing here and all around, anyone who met or knew this man could see and feel his passion for the water and fast boats. He was a US Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Boyer Mundy of the home; daughters, Amanda (David) Sadler of Williston, SC, Melody (Mike) Mathias of Ulmer, SC; grandchildren, Ray (Chelsea) Youngblood, Gabe, Erica and Kyle Sadler, Lauren Neeley, Drake, Michael, Masey Mathias; great-grandchild, Aya Bledsoe; sisters, Sherry M. Green and the late Richard Green of Williston, Janis (Dale) Boothe of Aiken; brother, Ricky Mundy of Williston and numerous nieces and nephews.
