Harold Edward Shedd
GRANITEVILLE, SC - Harold Edward Shedd, of Graniteville, SC, died January 4, 2015.
Born December 11, 1926 in Lakeland, FL, he was the son of the late Henry Frank and Alice Inez Rogers Shedd. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. He served in Japan during WWII and in the Korean Conflict with his last tour being in Germany. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Joy Class. He also was a member of the Belvedere Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nell Holtzhouser.
He will be deeply missed by his sons, Paul Shedd (Beth) and David Shedd (Kyndra), both of Graniteville, SC; his four grandchildren; his 2 1/2 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jean Thornton of Cumming, GA.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 11AM at The Mt. Vernon Christian Church, Monroe, GA. Internment to follow in the church cemetery. Officiating ministers will be Pastor Tad Marshall and Rev. John George.
Pallbearers will be Alex Shedd, Caleb Shedd, Andrew Cooper, Joe Carlton, Wayne Thornton, Mark Thornton, Dean Holtzhouser, and Jim Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Thornton, Jimmy Rogers and Mark Baxley.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 5-7PM at Hatcher Funeral Home, Hwy 1, Langley, SC.
