Henry A. Lloyd
AIKEN, SC - Mr. Henry A. Lloyd was born on June 9, 1924 in Flushing, New York to the late Allen &Gertrude Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ethel, three brothers, one sister and one brother-in-law.
He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Okinawa, Japan.He was a dedicated and active deacon at Old Zion Hill Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. While raising his family in New York, he worked as an auto mechanic and retired from the Hertz Corporation. In retirement, he enjoyed numerous projects around his home.
Henry leaves five daughters to celebrate his life - Alberta Lloyd Chamblee, GA, Gladys (John) Nichols of Waldorf, MD, Helen (William) Boen of Norcross, GA, Elaine (Raymond) Wright of Aiken, SC and Cheryl (Richard) of Powder Springs, GA; five grandchildren Raymond C. Wright II, San Antonio, TX, Terrell (Kisha) Pack, Gregory Pack, Tamia (Stewart) Tucker and Richelle Pack all of Powder Springs, GA; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters - Thelma Coffee of Springfield Gardens, NY, Gertrude Sullivan of Jamaica, NY; one brother-in-law- Perry (Bridget) Battle, two sisters-in-law Shirley Lloyd, Aiken, SC and Blanche Riley of Beech Island, SC, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 11:00am at Old Zion Hill Baptist Church. (Viewing from 10-11am at the church). Interment will follow immediately at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Repast will be held at Old Zion Hill Baptist Church 1-3pm. The family will receive friends Monday, May 25, 2015 at the funeral home from 6-8pm.
